Migration Lawyer and Qualified Solicitor
Selena graduated from the University of Queensland and began her legal career at Hawthorn Cuppaidge and Badgery, the oldest law firm in Queensland. She was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2004 and became a registered migration agent / migration lawyer in 2005.
Experience
During the early years, Selena worked in many areas of transactional law including residential conveyancing, retail and commercial leasing, business transfers, company law, wills and estates and migration law. It was during this time that a passion for migration law developed and she began to specialise in it from 2005. Selena has been a registered migration agent since 2005, representing corporate and individual clients in a variety of visa applications and review matters, particularly in more complex cases.
Lawyer with Executive Skills
Besides from her years in legal practice, Selena has a wealth of life experience gained from different aspects of her community involvement. This includes being an active member of a local church, board member of a not-for profit organisation and volunteer at a refugee and immigrants legal centre. Selena is a first generation migrant from Hong Kong and infuses her advice with social and cultural awareness as well as practical business sense.
Migration Law into General Law
After working exclusively in migration law as a migration lawyer for a period of time, Selena is pleased to be back in general practice with Times Lawyers at Sunnybank, and helping the local community. While Selena performs more of a supervisory role these days, she always welcomes meeting and working with clients from all walks of life. Selena speaks English, Cantonese and some Mandarin.
